• Manage and collaborate with physicians on pre and post cardiac transplant, pulmonary hypertension, heart failure, coronary artery disease, hypertension, arrhythmias, hyperlipidemia, and laboratory management for inpatients and outpatients. 
• Participated in research studies for inhaled Flolan and M.C.S.D (mechanical circulatory support devices) management.
• Manage daily immunosuppressive drug levels and medications
• In charge of weekly M.C.S.D. meetings to collaborate care with thoracic surgeons, cardiothoracic nurse practitioners, Chaplin, nutrition management, research coordinator, clinical engineers, out patient M.C.S.D. coordinator, and transplant cardiologists.
• Attend weekly thoracic transplant selection meetings to ensure proper UNOS listing for all pre-transplant patients and provide an update on all inpatients to committee.
• Collaborate and coordinate with physicians, families, and ancillary staff to meet and exceed patient’s needs.
• Document patient’s information in history and physicals, progress notes, discharge summaries, and letters to collaborating physicians.
• Develop plan of care with patients including ordering medications, diagnosis, interpretation, and additional testing.

2002-2007

Responsibilities include: overseeing LPN’s, nurse interns, nursing students, and nursing assistants.

• Direct patient care for cardiac medical and surgical, thoracic transplant, and M.C.S.D. patients.
• Technical skills include: Ventilator, swan, arterial line, central line, and chest tube management, intravenous therapy, telemetry monitoring, management of the M.C.S.D.
• Selected for Nursing Coordinating Council, which makes decisions for the nursing unit to assist in quality improvement.
