CLINICAL SKILLS

Outpatient

Triage visits with doctor based on examination and order pertinent imaging.

• Prescribe durable medical equipment, analgesics, and/or physical therapy.

Surgery

Contact primary care offices and order tests to ensure medical clearance.

• Manage preoperative visits and arrange postoperative rehabilitation.

• Write hospital orders, position patient in the OR, and have some training as first assist in arthroscopy, rotator cuff repairs, total joint arthroplasty, and more.

Inpatient

Carefully promote patient satisfaction and cheer during postoperative rounds.

• Create documents including H&Ps, discharge summaries, and progress notes.

• Represent the surgeon with professionalism and implement the treatment plan with nurses, OR staff, home healthcare, and physical therapy.
