PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 

10/2005 to Present          Large Healthcare System in the Southwest 

Emergency and primary care provider for hospital’s emergency department and rural health clinic.  Provide solo coverage of emergency department with physician back up and intermittent clinic hours.  Previously provided ED and clinic coverage simultaneously with routine clinic hours.  Involved in all aspects of patient care including: detailed history and physical exam, development of treatment plans, prescribing of medications, ordering and interpretation of  laboratory and diagnostic studies, emergency and trauma care and stabilization with preparation for transport, splinting and casting of fractures, and simple and complex laceration repairs.  Dictate H & P’s and written orders for ED to hospital admissions.  Additional administrative duties including scheduling of ED coverage and payroll validation and submission of employees.  Previously director of rural health clinic with administrative duties including employee review and performance evaluation. 

05/2006 to Present           Private Practice in the Southwest

Contract employee for emergency medicine group providing ED coverage to Regional Medical Center.  Provide emergency care through main emergency room of approximately forty-five thousand ED visits per year facility.  Participated in all aspects of emergency care in collaboration with ED physicians in main ED as well as to those deemed less emergent through the ED’s fast track program.

07/2009 to Present           Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant in the Southwest

 Emergency care provider at large trauma emergency center per diem.  Along with board certified emergency medicine physicians provide emergency care to all patients that present to emergency department.  Primarily provide care in higher acuity and trauma pod of department.  Additional responsibility as code blue PA for hospital.  Manages and directs code blue for all floors and departments of hospital while on shift in the ED.
