Duties include, but not limited to:
- Provide Physician Assistant First Assisting responsibilities for surgeons within the Perioperative Services Department
- Assist in setting up surgical cases. Act as Surgical First Assistant per scope of practice of that role.
- Assist in setting up and operating complex surgical equipment to support the cases (e.g. Frameless Stereotactic equipment, operative microscope, etc.).
- Provide retraction/exposure of the surgical site. Handling and/or cutting tissue. Provide hemostasis and suturing.
- Assists in the transport of the surgical patient to the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
