 Served as staff RN in Level III Neonatal ICU and cared for neonatal patients and families undergoing physiologic crisis post-preterm birth. 

 Staff RN – Charge RN ICU                   Bryan, Texas    1997 – 2006    

Primarily served as charge nurse in 36 bed mixed ICU/CCU/SICU on the 7p-7a shift and served the nurse manager directly as lead staffing RN and scheduler for 7p-7a shift. Made staffing and assignment decisions as appropriate to patient acuity, while also taking patients.  Mentor-level expertise in CVOH recovery, CCU and SICU patient care. Expertise includes GE and Phillips critical care monitors, Medtronic temporary external pacemakers, Zoll and LifePak monitor-defibrillators and electronic patient documentation systems.

 Staff RN-Charge RN CCU                   San Antonio, TX       1995 – 1997                      

Undertook mixed responsibility of staff and charge RN duties during tenure. Directly responsible for the care of “Status One” patients awaiting heart transplant with either pharmacologic support, mechanical support or both; care of patients in the immediate post surgical period following renal transplant; responsible for patients suffering from acute myocardial infarction; care of patients after percutaneous coronary intervention; care of patients requiring temporary pacing, mechanical ventilatory support, and ventricular assist.

 Charge roll included staffing and patient care assignment for nurses caring for the same. 

 Staff RN ICU                                               Snellville, GA                           1994 – 1995

 Responsible for the care of patients undergoing acute physiologic disturbance requiring intensive care.  Care mix included mechanical ventilatory support, pressor support, hemodynamic assessment and intervention. Initial ICU training occurred at Eastside Medical Center.

 Staff RN                        Snellville, GA          1993 – 1993               

Provided care for patients in the transition period between intensive care and regular telemetry, or from intensive care to discharge.  Responsibilities included admission, shift assessment, single and multiple-lead ECG interpretation, patient and family education, and multidisciplinary care planning.

Responsible for the care of patients undergoing cardiovascular physiologic disruption, including acute myocardial infarction, decompensated congestive heart failure, stable and unstable angina and pre- and post-care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization.
